IN BRIEF - IFOP Launches Unprecedented Anchovy Stock Assessment Cruise in Chile

In a first for Chile, the Instituto de Fomento Pesquero (IFOP) has deployed two scientific vessels to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the anchovy stock. The Abate Molina and Dra. Barbieri departed from the Port of Valparaíso on February 15th for a 27-day hydroacoustic prospecting cruise.
Their mission: to survey the waters off the Atacama and Coquimbo regions and evaluate the current state of the anchovy resource.
