The story of Goatsbridge begins in 1962 with a couple from Kilkenny and a passion for Rainbow Trout.
Husband and wife team Mag and Ger Kirwan are at the heart of the Goatsbridge Farm story. Living on the farm with their family, they work together to uphold a proud tradition of heritage and sustainability. Mag and Ger met in their early twenties while both studying at University College Dublin. Mag pursued a career as a Biochemist for several years, while Ger returned to Kilkenny to manage the family farm. Following her heart, Mag later joined Ger at Goatsbridge Trout Farm. Under their dynamic leadership, Goatsbridge Trout continues to thrive and grow.
Our Rainbow Trout has a delicate flavour that comes from the purity of the water it is raised in. Each catch comes directly from the crystal-clear Irish waters of the Little Arrigle River and the River Aughrim. Our low intensity, small scale farming practices ensure that this natural resource is protected for generations to come.
