A Highlight of the Seafood Show Latin America

Held concurrently with the Seafood Show Latin America, the seminar attracted a full house of industry leaders and policymakers. Discussions spanned crucial topics, including market investments, global supply chains, and quota expectations.

Seafood envoy Randi Bolstad remarked:
"Combining the seminar with the Seafood Show Latin America created an ideal meeting space for the industry. The event was both informative and effective for fostering market connections."

Rich and Dynamic Agenda

The seminar welcomed 157 participants and delivered an engaging program addressing:

  • Emerging Consumer Trends: Insights into changing preferences in the seafood market.
  • Supply Chain and Quota Projections: Understanding the future flow of goods in Brazil.
  • Tax Reform Challenges: Impact of potential legislation on competitive positioning for clipfish and salmon.

Attendees also previewed upcoming campaign strategies, including new materials featuring Haaland. These commercials, designed for the Brazilian market, were particularly lauded for their resonance with the nation’s passion for football.

Key Presentations and Takeaways

1. "Oceans of Change" by Christian Chramer:
The Director of the Norwegian Seafood Council delivered a compelling lecture based on the organization’s latest trend report. The presentation explored critical themes such as consumer behavior shifts, sustainability, innovation, and technological advancements in seafood production.

2. Market Dynamics and Legislative Impact:
Jairo Gund from ABIPESCA highlighted pressing concerns around Brazil’s tax reforms, specifically how exclusion from the “basic food basket” disadvantages seafood products like clipfish and salmon compared to other proteins. These policy discussions underscored the need for strategic advocacy to enhance competitiveness.
