In April 2023, cod import volume fell 81% from the previous year

Frozen cod imported in April 2023 was 749 tons, down 81% from 4,044 tons in the same period last year.
In the case of cumulative imports, 5,707 tons, or 1.54% of the total amount of fishery products (370,228 tons) were imported, down 40% from the previous year's 9,584 tons.
As of April, 5,622 tons of frozen cod were imported from Russia, 98.5% of the total, 52 tons from the US, 23 tons from China, and 10 tons from Canada.
The import unit price by country was USD 4.23/kg for Russia and USD 4.37/kg for the US, and the average unit import price was USD 4.15/kg, down 8% from USD 4.52/kg in the same period last year.
The amount of imports in April was USD 3.11 million, down 83% from the previous year's USD 18.26 million, and the cumulative amount of imports in April was USD 23.87 million, a decrease of 41% from the previous year's USD 40.51 million.
