Euronete is the world’s leading supplier of fishing nets, wire and fibre ropes and related fishing gear.
In 1803, a young man named Nicolaas Jurjan Lankhorst, married into a family that owned a small factory manufacturing ropes and netting and started “Lankhorst Touwfabrieken”, based in Holland.
In 1965 Captain Gramaxo founded his company which later became Grupo Euronete, based in Portugal. In 1998, the two companies joined and merged into the Lankhorst Euronete group bv.
In 2003, on the occasion of the group’s bicentennial anniversary, Her Majesty, the Queen of The Netherlands granted the company by Royal Warrant the predicate “Royal”. History started modestly in 1803 as Lankhorst Touwfabrieken, but the company has since expanded into a multifaceted enterprise of international stature with around 1,300 employees.
