Pacific Seafood Group signs deal with university to advance workers' education

Ashford University, an academic institution owned by Bridgepoint Education, Inc, has announced an alliance agreement with Pacific Seafood Group. The agreement will provide Pacific Seafood employees with an opportunity to advance their studies at Ashford University.
Pacific Seafood Group, a family-owned seafood company launched in 1941, has 37 locations throughout the US and Canada. The new agreement will make Ashford University degrees more affordable for Pacific Seafood employees by offering fee waivers for costs associated with attending the university.
"At Pacific Seafood, people are our most important asset, and we have a long tradition of investing in our team. Finding the right academic partner was important to the long term development of our team members as we believe they are worthy of the best that is out there," said Drew Jacobs, Pacific Seafood's director of training and development.
"Ashford provides our team members a quality education while leveraging our internal training programmes for college credit," Jacobs added.
"The character and quality of Ashford's administrators and instructors complements our commitment as a company, making them the right choice for us. This is a big win for Pacific Seafood and an important part in retaining our people and helping them move forward in their careers," he remarked.
Founded in 1918, Ashford University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The University offers graduate and undergraduate degree programmes online and at its Clinton, Iowa, campus. The University is known for its high quality yet highly affordable online and on-campus programmes.
