AquaChile listing on Oslo Stock Exchange currently suspended

The entry of AquaChile on the Oslo Stock Exchange, following the steps of Salmones Camanchaca, is not currently on the agenda of those who will be its new owners, if the purchase transaction is approved by the relevant authorities.
Agri-food holding Agrosuper announced on Monday the acquisition of the salmon company AquaChile for USD 850 million, an operation that, if it receives the green light, will make it one of the five largest aquaculture companies in the world.
Asked by the newspaper El Mercurio about the capital increase approved by AquaChile shareholders and the listing of this company on the Oslo Stock Exchange, Agropesur general manager José Guzmán admitted that these plans have changed.
"The listing in Oslo is suspended, there is a purchase agreement that obliges a public share purchase bid (OPA) and this process must be approved by the regulator." If it does not work, AquaChile has opened its way to the Oslo Stock Exchange or the one it deems appropriate," the executive said in an interview with El Mercurio.
Guzmán explained that the current owners are committed to selling their shares, while Agrosuper wants to take the OPA for all the shares they want to sell. "Anyone who wants to sell us is welcome, anyone who wants to stay is also welcome," he said.
With respect to the possibility that Agrosuper or its salmon farming business will be listed on the stock market, the executive said that they have no plans "in one way or the other".
"Now we are focused on this operation to be performed, and later we are open to all alternatives, but there is not necessarily a plan," he explained.
Although AquaChile is a listed company, Guzmán stressed that Agrosuper does not necessarily have a vocation to be or not to be listed on the Stock Exchange.
"It is a circumstantial and not a principle thing, this is a company that, as it is already in the stock market, has its own nature and, depending on the OPA, it could remain public and listed on the stock market, or any other scenario could occur", said the executive in the interview.
