IN BRIEF - Korea to test chinese seafood after oil spill

The Korean government will test imported seafood caught in waters around China's Bohai Bay after it was revealed earlier this week that China hushed up a massive oil spill in the area.
The Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries said on 6 July it will conduct thorough checks over fears that some seafood could be contaminated. The ministry says it is testing scallops from the area for excessive levels of the carcinogen benzopyrene.
Comprehensive tests of other marine products such as clams, octopus and blue crab are also underway, as they make up most of Korea's seafood imports from China.
