The Fishing Vessel Shipowners' Association in Gran Sol (Anasol) argues that the European Union (EU) should implement the same criteria as in the past to increase the TAC for northern hake in Gran Sol fishing grounds this year.
The association notes that in the scientific reports used to determine the quotas, the stock status was underestimated and that to correct this situation, the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) raised its fishing proposal by 80.3 per cent for 2014 compared to its recommendation for 2013.
