CIG union expects to sign an agreement in the coming days whereby the company Freiremar agrees to make about 200 workers redundant with "no fewer than eight million euros" to be paid over a period of nine months.
This amount corresponds to redundancy payment, unpaid wages, settlements and other issues, as the amounts established in dozens of court rulings in favour of the workforce, explained the head of FGAMT-CIG, Xose Fernandez Piñeiro.
The union leader explained that during the negotiation period of the second Record of Employment Regulation (ERE), which has extinctive character (the first one was deemed as invalid), employee representatives defended 35 days of redundancy payment per year of service with 18 monthly payments as a maximum and within nine months.
