Invertec Pesquera Mar de Chiloé S.A. It started its activities in 1988, having as its first objective to develop, produce and elaborate products based on salmon, which would be destined for the final consumer.

In 2012, in order to simplify the corporate structure before the market in general and achieve economic efficiencies, the company made different changes to the corporate structure. The company changed its name to Invertec Pesquera Mar de Chiloé S.A. to Invermar S.A. Then they merged with Invermar S.A. and dissolved the companies Acuicultura Lago Verde Ltda., Invertec Seafood S.A. and Cexpromar Ltda.

Friday, April 05, 2013 - The company Salmones Cupquelán -a subsidiary of the Canadian firm Cooke Aquaculture- agreed to buy 156,153,494 shares of Invertec Pesquera Mar de Chiloé (Invermar), corresponding to 54.07% of the total, for a value of USD 20 million

In July 2013, due to the fact that, within the period agreed upon by the parties, the entire suspension conditions for which the contract was pending were not fulfilled, this was without effect.
