High Liner Foods Incorporated (Public, TSE:HLF) is a processor and marketer of superior quality seafood products. High Liner's branded products are sold throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico under the High Liner(R), Fisher Boy(R), Mirabel(R) and Sea Cuisine(TM) labels, and are available in most grocery and club stores. The Company also sells its High Liner(R), FPI(R), Mirabel(R), and Viking(TM) food service products to restaurants and institutions, and is a major supplier of private label seafood products to North American food retailers and food service distributors.
The company began in 1899 with the founding of W.C Smith & Co, a salt fish operation located in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia the current home of our head office and one of the most modern and diversified food processing plants in the world
It owns and operates six food-processing plants located in: Lunenburg, Nova Scotia; Burin, Newfoundland & Labrador; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; Danvers, Massachusetts; Newport News, Virginia, and Dalian, China. It also operates a leased food-processing facility in Malden, Massachusetts. On December 19, 2011, it acquired Icelandic Group h.f.’s subsidiary, Icelandic USA and its Asian procurement operations.
