Based in Puerto Montt, capital of the Chilean salmon, the Instituto Tecnológico del Salmón S.A.(Intesal) is the technological platform and spokesman of the Association of Salmon Industry AG, SalmonChile, coordinating various research programs, monitoring and tracking activity .
Intesal was created in 1995 thanks to the contribution of the salmon industry and the State of Chile, through a technology transfer fund of the Corporation for the Promotion of Production (CORFO). The aim was to develop a scientific research center to provide technology advances and the salmon industry in Chile.
Besides academically relates the country's universities and major research centers in the world.
