El Servicio Nacional de Pesca is a public body under the Ministerio de Economía, Fomento y Turismo, whose mission is to monitor compliance with fishing regulations, aquaculture, health and environmental, as well as international agreements that regulate the activity, in order to conserve aquatic resources and help ensure sustainable development of the sector.
To fulfill this purpose, the centralized service is territorially decentralized in 15 regional offices, a National Office located in the city of Valparaiso, a coordination office located in the city of Santiago, 17 offices and provincial and communal character 9 1 in the Terminal Pesquero Santiago, a total of 44 offices throughout the country.
