Andrew Mallison (51) has a BSc in Fishery Science with Business Studies and is a Professional Member of Institute of Food Science & Technology. Since May 2009 he has been Director Standards & Licensing, Marine Stewardship Council, where his responsibilities include managing teams responsible for Policy Development, Fishery Assessments and Chain of Custody standards, and protecting MSC brand values and reputation. From September 1996 to May 2009 he was Technical Manager and Senior Technologist at Marks & Spencer. During this period the range of fish species sold doubled, and the retailer was recognised by Greenpeace and other conservation groups for its sustainability standards. Andrew has been a ministerial advisor and served on several strategic committees including the DEFRA 2027 Fishery Strategy Group.
