James Wright is the Editorial Manager at the Global Aquaculture Alliance, overseeing the editorial coverage on the Global Aquaculture Advocate. He has been covering the seafood industry as a journalist since 1999, most recently at Diversified Communications, where he acted as senior editor of SeafoodSource.com, a daily seafood news website. Diversified’s seafood portfolio includes Seafood Expo Global, Seafood Expo North America and the SeaWeb Seafood Summit, an annual event highlighting sustainable seafood solutions. He has moderated many panel discussions at prominent industry conferences, including GOAL (2015 and 2016), Seafood Expo North America (2007-2015), the SeaWeb Seafood Summit (2015 and 2016) and the Maine Fishermen’s Forum (2013).
Previously, he served as senior editor of SeaFood Business from 2011 to 2014 and assistant editor/associate editor of the monthly magazine from 2005 to 2011. His experience in seafood dates back to 1999, when he was assistant editor of the Gofish.com seafood news website through 2001. Wright also has experience in marketing and PR, acting as marketing director of Browne Trading Company in Portland, Maine (2002 through 2005). He is a UMaine alum and a graduate of the National Fisheries Institute’s Future Leaders program. |
