Russian fishermen successfully fish outside Russian waters

The catch of the Russian fishing fleet in the exclusive economic zones of foreign states, conventional areas and the open part of the World Ocean by April 17, 2023 amounted to almost 138 thousand tons, which is 23% more than last year.

By the reporting period, there were 120 domestic fishing vessels in the fishery and passage outside the exclusive economic zone of Russia (EEZ of Russia), and 90 vessels in foreign ports.
At the moment, the Russian fleet operates in the waters of foreign countries, including Mauritania, Namibia, NEAFC (Northeast Atlantic Fisheries Commission regulatory area), NAFO (Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization regulatory area) and SUT ( Regional Fisheries Management Organization South Pacific area).

Russian fishermen fish according to quotas issued by the Russian Federation within the framework of international intergovernmental agreements in the field of fisheries.
