Iran to Expand Fisheries Cooperation with World Countries

Iran enjoys high capabilities and potentials in the field of aquaculture, Iran’s deputy minister of agriculture said, adding that the country is ready to cooperate with the neighboring states, including Russia, and African nations in the field of fisheries.

Speaking in his meeting with the Russian Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Head of the Federal Agency for Fishery Ilya Shestakov in Tehran on Saturday, Seyed Hossein Hosseini emphasized the need for broadening cooperation between Iran and Russia in the field of fisheries.
He invited the Russian side to attend the International Fisheries Exhibition, which will be held in Tehran later this year.
The deputy minister of agriculture pointed to the history of cooperation between Iran and Russia in the fisheries field which dates back to many years ago and added that the Iran-Russia Joint Fisheries Commission was held in Russia’s Astrakhan in April 2023.

The head of the Iranian Fisheries Organization (IFO) assessed organizing the International Fisheries Exhibition in St. Petersburg as ‘excellent’ and invited the Russian side to visit the Iran International Fisheries Exhibition.
The head of the Russian Federal Agency for Fishery pointed to the history of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, research, aquaculture, investment in Iran and called for expanding cooperation with the Islamic Republic in the relevant field.
