Fishing from the smallest coastal group with pumping directly from the seine was started in northern Norway at the weekend.

NVG herring:

Fishing from the smallest coastal group with pumping directly from the seine was started in northern Norway at the weekend. The start-up came a few days later this year compared to last year, when the fleet had to lie down and wait for weather conditions. On the night of Sunday, the boats finally got under way. In total, it is expected that the coastal fleet will fish around 8,000 tonnes of NVG herring this autumn.

Overall, there are 25,582 tonnes left of this year's NVG herring quota of 251,760 tonnes for all vessel groups.

North Sea herring:

2,672 tonnes of North Sea herring have been registered this week, with ring seine making up the majority. Here there are now 17,757 tonnes of this year's quota of 149,601 for the Norwegian boats. 

Mackerel:

10,556 tonnes of mackerel were also registered in the week that was, here foreign vessels accounted for the majority of the catch. Almost all the Norwegian boats have completely finished their quotas for this year. 

Horse mackerel:

71 tonnes of horse mackerel were also reported last week from two different boats. 

Sea sprat:

A foreign boat registered 1,450 tonnes of sea sprat for flour/oil. 

Coastal spat:

Four boats have reported 160 tonnes of coastal sprat from the Sognefjord and Nordfjord. 

The edge:

A boat reported in from the edge last week with 255 tonnes of Blue whiting, 163 tonnes of silver smelt and 8 tonnes of of Norway pout.
