Russian fishermen have crossed the threshold of 5 million tons, with another month of active fishing ahead. According to the Center for Fisheries Monitoring and Communication System (CSMS - subordinate to Rosrybolovstvo), by December 5, 2023, the total volume of production of aquatic biological resources by all Russian users reached 5.028 million tons - almost 10% more than the level of the same period last year. This figure was achieved largely due to successful salmon fishing and the development of the Iwasi sardine in the Far East.

In the Far Eastern fishery basin, the volume of catch increased by 15.3% and reached 3.8 million tons. The pollock fishery produced 19.8 thousand tons more – 1.8 million tons. The herring catch amounted to more than 355.8 thousand tons, flounder - 73.6 thousand tons, cod - 107.9 thousand tons. The volume of Pacific salmon production reached 609 thousand tons, which is 13% more than in 2021.

As of December 5, the total load of refrigerators for storing fish products in the Primorsky Territory was 50%. There are 57.4 thousand tons of fresh frozen fish products in the fish terminals.

In the Northern Fisheries Basin, fishermen caught 444.3 thousand tons, including cod - 257 thousand tons, haddock - 74 thousand tons, capelin - 23 thousand tons.

In the Western fishery basin, production volume reached 72.3 thousand tons. In the sprat fishery, the catch amounted to more than 37.4 thousand tons, and Baltic herring – 23.7 thousand tons.

More than 36.2 thousand tons were produced in the Azov-Black Sea fishery basin, including 9.3 thousand tons of anchovy and 14.8 thousand tons of sprat, which is 4.8 thousand tons more than the 2022 level.

78.6 thousand tons were caught in the Volga-Caspian fishery basin - 1% more than in 2022, including sprat - 28.2 thousand tons (+1.8 thousand tons).

The catch of partial fish species amounted to 19.8 thousand tons.

In the exclusive economic zones of foreign states, conventional areas and the open part of the World Ocean, the Russian fishing fleet has mastered more than 526 thousand tons.
