In honor of the completion of construction, the flag of the Russian Federation and the pennant of the Federal Fisheries Agency were raised on the new crab catcher “Captain Khazan”. The head of Rosrybolovstvo, Ilya Shestakov, took part in the ceremony.

“Today is truly a big holiday for the shipyard and for the fishing industry. The Russian flag will be raised on a new vessel that will be engaged in crab production. And our fishing fleet will be replenished with a new vessel,” said Ilya Shestakov.

The head of Rosrybolovstvo thanked all participants in the project and noted that fleet renewal is a strategically correct step for business development.

“This program would not have been possible if at one time the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin had not adopted a law - quotas in exchange for investments. Now companies that catch crab must build such modern super-vessels,” emphasized Ilya Shestakov.

After raising the flags, the “Captain Khazan” demonstrated its sailing performance - the participants of the ceremony entered the waters of the seaport of Nakhodka.

“Captain Khazan” is one of a series of eight ships simultaneously laid down in Nakhodka in 2020. Built according to the crab auction program for the Antey Group of Companies. Designed for catching crab in the Bering and Okhotsk seas and transporting up to 120 tons of live crab in 9 tanks with a total volume of 640 cubic meters.

The total length of the vessel is 57.7 meters, width 12.6, maximum speed 12.6 knots, load capacity of the crane - 3.5 tons.
