“We are delighted to be recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed companies again this year. It’s a credit to our people, as their commitment and dedication to their work that really make it possible for our company to achieve this distinction year over year.” says Glenn Cooke, CEO of Cooke Inc. This is the 19th consecutive year that the family-owned and operated company has received this designation. Platinum Club members are winners that have maintained their Best Managed status for seven years or more.

“Aquaculture is one of the fastest growing food sectors globally and has become an increasingly important aspect of Canada’s food production capability,” says Cooke. “This designation is an important one for us because it holds us accountable and ensures we are demonstrating best practices in all areas of our business.”

Celebrating over 30 years, Canada’s Best Managed Companies is one of the country’s leading business awards programs recognizing innovative and world-class businesses. Every year, hundreds of entrepreneurial companies compete for this designation in a rigorous and independent evaluation process. Applicants are evaluated by an independent panel of judges with representation from program sponsors and special guests.

“The 2024 Best Managed winners exemplify the highest Canadian business standards of innovation, adaptability, and bold leadership,” said Lorrie King, Partner, Deloitte Private, Global Best Managed Leader and Co-Leader, Canada’s Best Managed Companies program. “Their relentless ambition, determined focus, and strategic agility have led them to remain competitive on the world stage, creating sustainable economic growth in an evolving global market.”

The 2024 cohort of Best Managed companies share common themes such as having a people centric culture, targeting effective ESG strategies, and accelerating operational digitization.

“This year’s winners demonstrate exceptional commitment to drive growth in today’s competitive and dynamic business landscape,” says Blair Cowan, Executive Vice-President, Head of Commercial Banking.CIBC is proud to sponsor a program that represents the best in Canadian business, as these privately owned companies continue to be the engine of our economic growth by creating jobs through strong leadership and innovation.”

2024 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award will be honored at the symposium and gala taking place in Toronto on May 15. The Best Managed program is sponsored by Deloitte Private, CIBC, The Globe and Mail, Salesforce and TMX Group.
