Norwegian salmon producer Lingalaks AS has started to replace fish oil with omega-3 oils rich in EPA and DHA extracted from marine algae to feed their salmon, in order to ensure greater sustainability and differentiation of their products.
?DSM and Evonik have established Veramaris V.O.F., for the production of omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA from natural marine algae for animal nutrition. The 50:50 joint venture is headquartered at the DSM Biotech Campus in Delft (Netherlands).
