Fresco y Más offers Hispanic-focused food items include 3,000 discounted items in-store. The stores also feature full-service Hispanic baked goods including flan, croquettes; a cafe with seating serving Hispanic breakfast items and bilingual signage throughout.
Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of Winn-Dixie, has rolled out more Fresco y Más locations in South Florida to compete with the likes of Presidente Supermarkets, Publix Sabor, CVS pharmacy y más and other retailers aiming to draw in more Hispanic shoppers.
Southeastern, which also owns Bi-Lo and Harveys, opened the first Fresco y Más store in June 2016 in Hialeah, Ian McLeod, CEO of Southeastern Grocers, said it received an "overwhelming positive response."
