Salmon firm to invest USD 26 million in new centre

Salmones Maullín, a subsidiary of AquaChile, plans to build a new recirculation centre in the town of Rio Grande, municipality of Cochamó (Los Lagos Region).
According to the Declaration of Environmental Impact (DEI) filed with the National Environment Commission (Conama), the project will require investments of around USD 26 million.
In the new facility, equipped with water recirculation systems, the company will perform all salmon production operations from the initial deposit of eggs, hatching and fry, until obtaining disease-free smolts.
