In Russia, pink salmon and red caviar will immediately fall in price by 40%
(RUSSIAN FEDERATION, 8/23/2023)
Fish and caviar in Russia will become more affordable for buyers in the coming weeks. This is due to the record salmon catch in the amount of 528 thousand tons, which is 3 times higher than in 2022.

At the moment, the cost of pink salmon has decreased by 35-40%, and this change will be reflected in fish prices in retail stores over the next 2-3 weeks.
Caviar prices are also expected to fall. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Fish Union Sergei Gudkov.
He noted that this price reduction will apply to the entire supply chain, including retail sales. However, it will take some time, so a significant reduction in prices is expected when the main volume of goods begins to arrive.
Caviar prices are also expected to decline, but the final market assessment will be presented towards the end of September or the beginning of October.
