Captain D’s offers prototype plans for traditional, end-caps, and other non-traditional sites, adapting its restaurant concept to different locations.

Captain D’s Showcases Newest Design Prototype

  (UNITED STATES, 11/14/2013)

Captain D’s continues to build upon its incredible transformation well into the fourth quarter of 2013. After another quarter of positive same-store sales increases, the thriving, 520-unit fast-casual seafood restaurant continued to demonstrate that it is the industry’s leading innovator by rolling out a new grilled menu line and a modern prototype for its units.

The new Captain D's in Oakwood, Georgia was built from the ground up, and is the brand’s first unit to feature its new “Beach Model Design.” This location is the first of its kind for Captain D’s that features its new equipment line as well as outdoor seating for guests to enjoy. The location opened on Monday, November 4, 2013.

As part of a significant brand revitalization, Captain D’s has recently rolled out a new updated restaurant image designed to enhance the company's experience for its guests.

The Captain D’s of Oakwood is the first of a three-unit deal by veteran franchisee, Jim McClure. McClure opened his first Captain D’s location about nine years ago. Since then, Jim and his wife, Val, have built their operations to boast four other Captain D’s locations under the name VJM Seafood.

Captain D’s serves freshly prepared seafood at reasonable prices.

“We are very excited about the direction that Captain D’s is taking. Sales have been great – with a large increase in traffic and resulting profit margin,” McClure said. “I have been a franchisee for about nine years. Right now, the leadership we have at the corporate office is the best that I’ve seen. It was an easy decision to go in and sign the agreement to open more locations.”

The Captain D’s of Oakwood features the brand’s new highly successful “Fire Grilled Menu items,” which is attracting guests seeking healthier options. The new grilled menu, along with all-new, fresh and inviting menu boards, will be implemented system-wide by Captain D’s in Q1 2014.

Captain D’s continues to focus on smart, steady growth and offers a unique combination of brand recognition, strong unit-level economics and an availability of markets to for potential franchisees. “The number one request we hear from our guests is that they want us to make it more convenient to find and enjoy our food,” Chief Development Officer Michael Arrowsmith said. “This is one more place to make that happen.”

Captain D’s new look focuses on creating a vibrant coastal experience and welcoming atmosphere.

“We couldn’t be more pleased to unveil the new Beach Model Design in Oakwood,” Arrowsmith continued. “Everyone at Captain D’s is focused on continuing to offer the best possible opportunities for success to its franchisees, and the newly constructed Oakwood store not only articulates the vision of our new look but embodies the future of the brand.”
