Bergen-based Salmon Group, an association representing 43 small Norwegian producers, has accepted another company into its membership.
The newcomer is Steinvik Fish Farm, based out of Flora. The firm owns seven licenses for salmon and trout with production in Flora and Askvoll.
Steinvik is run by General Manager Alex Vassbotten, who founded and owns the company along with his father Inge Weekend Vassbotten.
The company also has ownership interests in smolt production, exporting company Seaborn and fish farming equipment development through the firm Havsterk.
“We see the benefit of [joining Salmon Group], both on the buying side and to have a network to strengthen ourselves both managers and employees in the company,” Vassbotten said in a statement, (More Info)
