Steinvik consists of the companies Steinvik Fiskefarm, Steinvik Fiskefarm Visningsenter, Steinvik Rensefisk and Barlindbotn Settefisk, which together have over 60 employees. In Steinvik, we produce salmon and aure spread over 9 sea locations in Kinn and Askvoll municipalities, as well as hatchery fish, large smolt and cleaning fish on land in Kinn and Bremanger municipalities. Steinvik also deals with the dissemination of aquaculture history at the viewing centre, which can be found at Steinvika where it all started.
Steinvik Fiskefarm was established in 1986 by father and son Inge Helge and Alex Vassbotten. The company is named after the place where the first salmon was produced, namely at Steinvika. It started with a license for the production of salmon and aure, and in recent times the company has grown in the form of acquisitions of other companies and allocations. Today, Steinvik Fiskefarm has 6 ordinary licenses and one display license. The salmon and aure are produced at 9 locations. Two of the locations are in Stongfjorden and Flokeneset in Askvoll municipality. The remaining locations are in Høydalsfjord and Frøysjøen in Kinn municipality. In addition to the locations at sea, the company has two bazaars and a head office. One of the bases is located in Flokeneset and one in Seljeseth. The administration takes place at the head office, which is located on Hopen near Steinvik
