Nova Austral scores a milestone and certifies its crime prevention model for two years

This accreditation, delivered by an independent entity, is valid for two years and represents another step for the company to operate with the best practices in the industry and integrate ethics into all areas of the business.

Nova Austral and its subsidiaries managed to certify its crime prevention model for another two years, certified for the first time in December 2020, under Law No. 20,393 on Criminal Liability of Legal Entities.

This new certification was delivered by MC Compliance, an independent firm registered with the Commission for the Financial Market (CMF), and confirms that the company has implemented and is operating the model.

This includes crimes such as bribery of a national or foreign public official; money laundering; financing of terrorism; receiving; corruption between individuals; unfair administration; incompatible negotiation; misappropriation or crimes classified as extractive activities without an aquaculture concession, in areas of management and exploitation of benthic resources

“For Nova Austral, having a model of these characteristics implemented means integrating the Compliance area as part of the entire business and ensuring that sustainable, antibiotic-free salmon production is supported by the highest ethical standards. In this sense, this achievement is one more step taken by the Nova Austral team to integrate ethics in all areas of the business,”

said Nicolás Larco, general manager of Nova Austral.

This new milestone is added to another recently achieved by the company after receiving recognition from Fundación Generación Empresarial for Commitment to Integrity after applying the Values and Organizational Integrity Barometer within the company. In addition, it is part of the numerous initiatives promoted by the company to operate with the highest industry standards.
