The Fish Union and X5 Group discussed the development of cooperation

Representatives of the Fish Union and X5 Group, the leading grocery retail company in Russia, discussed issues of improving the quality of service in the field of logistics.

The participants of the meeting discussed various issues of cooperation between retail chains, members of X5, and suppliers of fish products. Among these issues is increasing the efficiency of working with the data of the Dialog.X5 Logistics portal. The Dialog.X5 digital platform is an ecosystem of services for business process automation and data analytics, while the Logistics platform allows you to see the entire supply chain of products. For example, with its help, an X5 partner supplier can find out in advance what demand for goods retail chains will have, as well as predict a shortage or surplus of products in stock.

In addition, during the event, various logistics projects between the company and its partners were considered. Among such projects is the participation of suppliers in the Implant program, which was launched by the Perekrestok retail chain in 2022. As part of the program, a supplier representative works directly in the Perekrestok supply chain team and gets access to forecasting, auto-order, replenishment, service, and inventory systems for their range. The network and vendor set engagement goals for the year ahead (e.g., product availability on the shelf, inventory, scrap rate, inbound service) and then adjust their agile performance based on market conditions.

In addition, the participants of the meeting discussed the topic of information exchange between the retailer and suppliers on the development strategy for the near and long term. Such exchange of information can be organized on a systematic basis, which will reduce the risks of uncertainty and allow market participants to better plan their business processes.

The event also raised other aspects of joint activities, including the issues of self-regulation in the food market. Thus, the concept of creating working groups to address topical issues was considered.
