Organic and Responsible Sourced Seafood

  (UNITED STATES, 6/7/2012)

Blue Circle is not your average seafood company. Blue Circle’s founders and owners are food enthusiasts with a conscience.

The company’s four partners have deep roots in the organic food industry, so they fervently care about how food is sourced, how it is prepared, and how it is delivered and served to you.

Blue Circle's farmers deliberately limit the number of fish they stock in their open-net deep-water pens which are filled with less than 2 percent fish and more than 98 percent water

They each have decades of experience successfully growing and harvesting food responsibly. One of these partners, Nora Poullion, is the owner and chef of Restaurant Nora, in Washington, DC, the first certified organic restaurant in the United States.

Another partner traces his roots all the way back to his family’s organic farm, where he oversaw organic production and distribution.

So, you might say each of Blue Circle’s partners is a zealot and a perfectionist when it comes to food purity and excellence.

“We promote healthy, delicious seafood while serving as good stewards of Nature’s resources,” noted Bill Cole, one of Blue Circle’s owners. “Whether we get our seafood from pristine fjords in Norway or the Indian Ocean, our partners employ industry-leading humane practices that protect the environment – from catch to consumer.”

Blue Circle's salmon is sustainably raised

Blue Circle started in 2005 in order to change the seafood environment.

Focusing on traceability, animal welfare, food safety, and quality, the four partners applied their organic approach to both aquaculture and wild-caught seafood. And thus Blue Circle was born.

By 2007, the company had connected with Villa, a small firm in Norway that catches and sells wrasse (a small shoreline cleanerfish) to control sea lice in salmon naturally and without toxins.

This is but one example of how Blue Circle constantly searches the globe for humane and healthy aquaculture and wild-catch operations.

Today Blue Circle enjoys a sterling reputation as a first-rate supplier of both fresh and frozen seafood to leading chefs, artisan retailers, and select or exclusive distributors.

About Blue Circle Foods

In 2005 Blue Sea, LLC launched Blue Circle Foods, a company dedicated to marketing and distributing high-quality, responsible seafood.

Adhering to strict environmental standards, the firm markets to select United States retailers specializing in organic foods and verifiable sustainable practices.

Blue Circle employs verifiable practices that protect seafood and the environment at large

Blue Sea LLC also owns the Changing Seas brand and has gained a reputation as a first-rate supplier of both fresh and frozen.

Products include sustainable certified and organically certified fresh and frozen salmon, smoked items and hand-line tuna.
